“I have a few friends.” = Mam kilku przyjaciół. ✅ pozytywne nastawienie - A LITTLE = trochę, odrobina → tylko z niepoliczalnymi
“I have a little money.” = Mam trochę pieniędzy. ✅ pozytywne nastawienie - A LOT OF = dużo, wiele → z obiema grupami (policzalnymi i niepoliczalnymi), głównie w zdaniach twierdzących
“I have a lot of books.” / “I drink a lot of water.”

an apple, an egg, an umbrella, an hour* (h nie jest wymawiane!)
an hour — “h” jest nieme, słyszymy “au” (samogłoska) ✅
an honest man, a European country
🇬🇧 English Explanation
We use a or an before singular countable nouns when we talk about something for the first time, or when it doesn’t matter which specific one we mean. The choice depends on the sound that follows, not the letter.
A
- a book
- a cat
- a doctor
- a girl
- a house
- a university (= “yu”)
- a European city (= “yu”)
- a woman
AN
- an apple
- an egg
- an idea
- an orange
- an umbrella
- an hour (h is silent!)
- an honest person
- an old car
